Picture-Deleting Bug
 

So, I'm playing my latest mod, giving one last test run before uploading it here, when suddenly...

I notice that all my planets lack pictures.

And I don't really mean MY planets. I added one planet to the mod, and it hasn't shown up this game.

The game is still generating normal planets like what always occur, but it's not showing thier pictures this time. Instead it's just leaving a big blank space in the popup window where a picture should be.

I've added one planet to the graphics/planets folder, but it's not like I deleted the original folder. I just made a new folder with that name in my mod directory.


Anyone got insight into what's causing this?

Next time I played, they were all back to normal.

Either it's a random program glitch,
or something I screwed up in modding that only kicks in when triggered somehow.

I've had this happen too. Lemme see if I can remember why. It had to do with a typo in the beginning of ...hmm...I'm not sure, maybe a race, or specific planet type. Oh wait, I think it happens if you typo a planet's file name somewhere. I think I got it because I had it spelled correctly, but it was a .tga instead of .jpg or something. It's been a while, but that was the source of my problems with this.

Cool, thanks for the tip! I'll check my files for typos in picture names, GFX1 and GFXP references.

Now if I can just remember which mod had that problem... (curses his own prolificy).
