Forward Observers - Clarification

Each individual artillery or aircraft unit uses the specific forward observer/unit calling the bombardment during the actual targeted attack?

Just trying to make certain there aren't any identified issues with the observers. Such as, using different spotters for individual unit batteries within a battery formation.

A simple yes or no will suffice.

FO and other units that can call down fire, can be employed as follows:

-a single FO etc can call HELL down, ie: all your arty and air on one target,

-a single FO etc can call down on multiple targets.

-or you can have different FOs etc call in fire from different bttys or air strikes,

Now FOs have the best training for the job, and will get best results, however in campaigns, they and the others will gain experiance as the campaign goes on if they are being used.

I think what he's actually trying to ask is:
"If spotter A has LOS to the target, but spotter B does not, will my artillery still get the bonus from spotter A if I use spotter B to call the strike?"
or possibly:
"Will my spotters work better if I use a separate one for each artillery battery?"

On question one, not from what I've seen, no.

On question two, in a campaign it's possible, however just involving your FO will get his experiance up, as will your Arty Bttys gain as time passes, of course this depends on keeping this units alive as well.

I usually have two FO's and alternate their use, when possible I'll use Plt Cmdrs or Recce to adjust fire (if they can see it) after my FO's lay down the initial strikes.
I consider my FO's part of my HQ PLT/CO, so they will try to have good views if possible, but I won't risk them in the front lines, thats what the combat troops are for.
