Flight Spell Bug or WAD?
I script Flight and the caster puts it on a nearby archer... ok fine it's set to cast on another friendly unit first if one is nearby. However, I then had a SC cast Flight with no other friendly units around and he casts it on an enemy unit...? The spell isn't 100Precision, but with 18Precision casting it on himself at point blank range I was surprised. I haven't tested it, but I'm wondering if this spell is set to always cast on a nearby unit before the caster even if it's not friendly (possible bug since I see no reason you want your enemy to gain flight) or is it WAD and my caster just not only happened to miss his target (himself) at point blank range, but miss so bad it only landed on the enemy unit.

Did it actually give the enemy flying?

Re: Flight Spell Bug or WAD?
From my experience... any spell which doesn't specify caster has the chance of landing on any nearby unit. This is true even with the armor of virtue which casts 'ritual of returning' during battle. I've had this armor cast its spell on adjacent living statues standing next to the commander wearing the armor. In my opinion it sounds like a bug, however it's difficult to be certain. We'll probably have to wait for a developer to comment. |
Re: Flight Spell Bug or WAD?
Seemes strange, and the armor should not miss. I thought it was a self target spell.

Regarding Armor of Virtue, it seems to cast Ritual of Return for all units in the same square as the caster every time. As a result any units starting near the caster, like guards, also get it if they're in the caster's square. I've never had Armor of Virtue miss it's target (the wearer), unlike the Flight spell. I never used any mods yet. |
