SCOPE:
This fictional scenario is balanced for Human vs Human (pbem). It can
be played vs ai (any side), boosting the ai preference parameters.*

BACKGROUND:
The beginning of the nineties. The USSR is at a crossroads and on the
verge of a bloody civil war. The two main factions are the Unionists who
want to save the Communist ideal and the unity of the mighty USSR
motherland, opposed to the separatists who long for secession between
Russia and the other Republics while evolving from the bankrupt communism.*
Unfortunately, or fortunately, each side has nuclear weapons.
Consequently a direct and full-scale military confrontation is impossible.*
Therefore an agreement has been found to settle the dispute and the
fate of USSR. The two opponents will fight using a small combined-arms
group, with exactly the same forces for both factions.*
In order to ensure that the losing faction will not break the agreement
and will not be tempted to continue the war, the nuclear codes which
control the entire nuclear missile system have been buried under a road
in a swamp.*
Thus the side who controls the objectives at the end of the battle will
control the country and the loser will have no choice but to bow
peacefully.*

MISSION STATEMENT:*
Side 1*
Saviour of the united motherland, the burden on your shoulders is
heavy, because of your military victory we shall make our great country
united and strong once more.*
You'll have at your disposal our most elite Communist troops and the
latest and best armaments available. However, you must be aware that the
secessionist traitors shall have the very same.*
Elite paratroopers are to be used as reserves. Do not commit them too
early because your opponent's air defence may be strong. The
intervention of our elite paratroop reserve is to be decisive !*
Your men and yourself have been chosen for your elite military skills
but above all, because you are fully aware of the overwhelming
importance of this battle, for which your troops and yourself must give their
last drop of blood if necessary.*
Your mission is as important as our valiant ancestors who crushed
Napoleon and Hitler.*

MISSION STATEMENT:*

Freedom and progress fighter, the burden on your shoulders is heavy,
because of your military victory will come the evolution and necessary
reforms which will save Russia and its future allies, such as freeing the
Ukraine from bankruptcy and poverty.*
You'll have at your disposal our most dedicated troops and the latest
and best armament available. However, you must be aware that the
desperate Communists have the very same.*
Elite paratroopers are to be used as reserves. Do not commit them too
early because your opponent's air defence may be strong. The
intervention of our elite paratroop reserve is to be decisive !*
