Hosting a simple LAN game? Noob question.

Hey guys. New here, been playing for a while and so on.

Anyway, my friend got the game and he brought his laptop over, so I thought we'd have a LAN game (for things to go faster, since Hotseat is one person at a time) and I was absolutely baffled by how multiplayer works.

We messed around with it, nothing seemed to happen, couldn't choose are nations or anything else. Obviously either LAN doesn't exist or it's on a different level of what I'm used to in most games.

So please, can anyone tell me how it works, so we can play? Or link me to a guide, or something.

Thank you, and sorry if this is on the wrong forum http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif

Re: Hosting a simple LAN game? Noob question.

Click "Network"
Click "Setup a Dominions server"
Enter some number, for example 3214
Enter some name, for example Langame
Select Age
Configure AIs
Connect to the server with the clients (with your IP address). The host has to launch another instance of the game and connect to itself, too.
Complete game setup.
Play.

Furthermore, you need to have some pretenders created on the clients. This is done via Game Tools -> Create Pretender God.
You can then assign the gods to the nations when you connect.
