Heroes

I started to watch this series on Netflix's free downloads, and I have to say that I haven't seen this kind of addictive story telling since Babylon 5. It starts out slow but when it picks up speed it does it with monumental force. The characters are likable and intriguing, the story additively intoxicating, and the experience very rewarding.

If you haven't seen this series yet, rent the season 1 dvd's and go for a joy ride that has been absent from television since the end of Babylon 5. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

My wife and myself are enjoying this too. Season 2 is currently being shown.
Got to admit that having the non-English characters speaking their own language when talking in their countries is good, but I do get sick of the sub-titles after awhile.

At least it is large blocky easy to read print

My wife has really enjoyed the on-line comic for Heroes.

I enjoyed season 1. Haven't enjoyed season 2 so much. I actually haven't gotten around to watching this weeks epsiode yet. They were going to make a second series called Heroes: Origins but what with the writers strike and, it is rumoured, the awful ratings the latest series has gotten that's been cancelled. From reviews I've read the Latin wondertwins aren't very popular. I have always liked Marvel's Taskmaster though, not so sure about the black girl version.

What I like about the show is the intelligent writing. The fact that you don't see people running around in costumes like superman or the X-men. (Shudder)

Its about character development and interpersonal explorations. I love how they turned the good guys into bad guys and the bad guys into good goods in episode 19. Most effective and it served to illustrate a much more dominate darker side of why it is so important for them to kill Styler and save the cheer leader. The guy who you thought was the least important of them all turns out to be the most important. The character development arcs with Hiro and future Hiro were cool. Like I said in my opening post, I haven't seen this kind of good writing since Babylon 5 was taken off the air. (LOST - well its just lost.)

Well the writings good I agree, but it's not entirely original. Micah's cousin is just a copy of Taskmaster, and the whole threat last season was a copy of Watchmen.

Well, when it first came out last year, I thought of it as X-Men lite. But I agree, it is a darn good show. But I'm still wandering whatever happened to the girl who could connect with the internet with her mind. She showed up to talk to Ted, the radioactive man, and then they talked to Parkman. After that, she never was seen again. I bought the dvd set, and there were no deleted scenes concerning her. I just wander what happened?

I quite enjoyed the first season, haven't seen the second though, since I'm so busy being edjamakated, but from what I've heard it's kind of gone downhill, which I kind of figured. The poor writers burned themselves out on the first season, and now they've nothing left for the 2nd. Which is why they're all going on strike, to give themselves some thinking time. :p
