I for one can prove that statement false.

As can I. Oh noes! They're down to 98%...
Because, of course, SJ and I each represent 1% of "people". |
Re: OT: XP is Still The One
PC Mag is worthless. This is just more proof.

Re: OT: XP is Still The One
I don't think I've ever come across an OS that has delivered 100% satisfaction 100% of the time. However the closest I've yet come is Ubuntu, which I've been running 2 flavours of for a few months now. Takes a bit of tweaking to get it just how you want it, but it is far more tweakable than any Windows I've ever used, and it does everything I could ask for.
The thought of going back to Windows now... battling with anti-virus and anti-spyware... futzing about with installers and uninstallers and the registry... watching it slowly succumb to Windows rot... is not a pretty one |
Re: OT: XP is Still The One
I too am a happy Ubuntu convert... Aside from a few little issues, like my USB headphones play sounds in movies off my hard drive, but videos in Firefox, a la youtube don't play... Neither to system sounds... And Skype for Linux doesn't recognize my headset... I suppose that's what I get for having a Microsoft headset http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif
And Steam doesn't work right in Wine, so no Portal for me. But I regard that as a good thing, because then I'm not tempted to play games when I'm supposed to be studying. I just post on game forums instead. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif |
