Cross Attaching

In a multi-game campaign, does cross attaching stick?

That is, if I cross-attach a unit in this battle, will it still be cross attached in the next one?

Thanks.

Yep. IIRC you cannot attach support units to core formations and vice evrsa, but re-attachments in Core would remain.

And of course you can cross-attach them again differently if you wish in the next battle.

Which is a good trick how to grow an all-officer unit cadre, because as you attach unit from "higher" (in HQ roster) formation to lower, it becomes commander of given unit (say you attach T-34 C2, ie last unit in first platoon, to D formation, it becomes D0 and has to climb the rank ladder).

Not always. And being cast as a 0 unit in a platoon where the leader is already, say the 1 or even 2 unit, due to losses, it wont go up the ladder. (In campaigns, the leader unit is not necessarily the "0" after losses.)

The cross-attachment "strangeness" where it can be renumbered to 0 (instead of at the end o f the sequence) is a minor niggle I have been meaning to look at for years, but never quite got to.

Who the leader is can be determined from the roster - there is a "P" or "C" by him (or similar, don't have the game open right now).

Cheers
Andy
