Enormous Games?
I am reading a post about what seems to be an enormous game. I have been playing SE4 a bit now. The biggest map seems to be the Large and it does not come anywhere close to this number of systems. What am I missing here? How can a map support this many systems and colonies?
This is a part of the post....... "1 surrender 60 systems 155 colonies 1 surrender 89 systems 250 colonies 2 surrenders 111 systems 355 colonies 1 surrender - a big one (blockades) 133 systems 461 colonies 1 surrender - a big one (blockades) 148 systems 604 colonies population 80.7 billion |
Re: Enormous Games?
It's possible to edit the data files so that a "Large" quadrant can have a maximum of 255 systems. (256+ causes a fatal error.)
You've obviously been reading one of LCC's threads. He's put a lot of work into generating incredibly dense maps; there was a thread where he explained the procedure he uses to build them. ------------------ Cap'n Q The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all of its contents. Re: Enormous Games?
If you want to play with 255 systems, you will need to edit the SETTINGS from 100 to 255. Its really easy too do.

Re: Enormous Games?
Don't forget to change the systemNames.txt file also, I think the original just provides about 100 names, with this you will get lots of noname systems.
You'll find extended name files in the MOD forums. |
