Lost gems during teleport. Bug?
 

I gave a commander 8 air gems and orders to Cloud Trapeze into another province. I ended the turn and she got there, but without any gems. I double checked that I actually did give the gems to the commander, and ran the turn more than once to make sure it wasn't a fluke. The gems just seem to disappear.

Has anyone run into this before?

no. there's no combat upon arrival? can you try it giving the commander some non-air gems too?

If you have a zip of the turn prior to moving, you could attach it to your post, maybe someone can see what's happening.

There is combat upon arrival. But without the air gems it's a tough fight. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I added a fire gem to the commander, and she kept the fire gem but the air gems were gone again. Seems very odd to me but maybe you're conjuring some kind of hypothesis...

I think you missed the "Magic movement phase" battle. There are two battles in province 46 this turn.

When I run the turn, the 8 gems are there when the queen arrives. Pause the game at the start of the combat.

She is fighting barbarians, the province is owned by indies.

She casts "Summon Storm Power". 8 gems still left, fatigue is at 20 from the Monolith Armor. She's now A7.

She casts "Mists of Deception" using 5 gems. 3 gems left, fatigue is at 68.

She casts "Wrathful Skies" using 3 gems. No gems left, fatigue is at 123.

All the barbarians run away...

She casts "Mirror Image", fatigue up to 118.

The battle ends. The battle report says she survived.

Then during the non-magical movement phase, Ulm moves into province 46. She now has no gems, and has to fight the Ulm army. Weighed down by the Monolith armor, she fatigues fast, but puts up a pretty good fight before dying in melee.

That would explain it. Sometimes Ulm doesn't attack that province though and I could have sworn that during the fight against the barbarians she didn't cast any of the globals. Gotta be user error though, right? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
