New Design Names
1 Attachment(s)
I've created a couple of Design Names based on Oklahoma. One is all of the cities, suburbs, farming towns, lake towns and anything else I could find using Mapquest. I then found a .pdf file for the 2005 Oklahoma road map and used those names as well. Somes names weren't on mapquest, and some names weren't on the map. But I'm assuming that these towns exist, or had existed at one point. It's pretty lenghty, though, so you might want to edit it. Just remember to distribute the original file when you do so. Also included is a list of Oklahoma counties, which should be 77 names. Enjoy

Re: New Design Names
Ok, found out that I wasn't exactly done with the Oklahoma city names. Darn mapquest kept on finding more names for me. I'll update the attached files soon. Right after I do the same thing for the State of Texas. I found an old SE4 file called DNA which had something like 300 files you can use for design names. Some of them are already being used for SEV, some aren't. I found this file for Texas. I thought it was a city name file, but come to find out it was for the counties of Texas. Except it was missing the last 4 county names, and the only I county was misspelled. This per an official Tx DOT website I found. So I updated that file, and I'll create a city name file for Texas. Don't worry, I won't make it was detailed as the OK file, but since Texas is about 3 times the size of OK, it will probably still be a large file. I'll try to get that done within the next week or so, work permitting (I'm doing this at work).

Re: New Design Names
Ok, I decided to do the Texas cities as quickly as I could. If you see a town that isn't there, please feel free to add it. I just picked the major cities, the dark ones that Mapquest highlighted, and some that sounded interesting.

Ok, thanks for the info.
Hey, it worked, but not quite the way I expected. But teh above attachment is not only the Oklahoma & Texas state files, but two files for Florida cities & counties, and the old Alabama design name file, which actually included city names this time instead of county names, and an Alabama county name file. On the old Alabama file, I renamed it to reflect teh contents, and added a few of the big city names, such as Mobile, Montgomery and Birmingham. Enjoy. I think I'm doing with Mapquest for awhile. That's a whole lot of countryside to look at. |
