How to Start PBEM - Windows Vista
Hi -
I am starting up a new multiplayer PBEM game. I am running a brand new Windows Vista OS machine. I have new pretender files with .2h suffix from everyone saved in the proper newlords file. I went ahead and started a new game. Everything looks great so far, but when I went to host the game it prompted me with the fact no one had done their turns and whether I wanted to host anyway. I went ahead and hosted and it created new .trn files for everyone. Is this normally how things work on the first turn? |

It sounds nomal, hosting will generate the .trn file you have to send to the players, and they will have to send you their new .2h files with the turn information.

Actually, this doesn't sound right to me. After putting the Pretenders in the newlords file, and after loading pretenders and starting a new game, you should quit right there, and send the .trn files that were generated just for starting a new game. By hosting the way you just did, the players will have skipped their first turns, or so it seems to me. But as long as everyone skipped their first turns, no one will have an advantage.....except AI nations, if any, who will have taken their first turns.
