Download scenario problems
 

Hello, I'm new to Shrapnel Games Forums and I'm wondering if anybody out there can help this poor technophobe. When I download any Steel Panther WW11 scenarios, and then renumber and copy and paste to my scenario folder, the scenario appears in my scenario list when I open the game. But when I click start to play the game, I get the following message "save game failed to load". Any ideas where I could be going wrong. Any advice would be much appreciated as I'd love to play all the new scenarios out there. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Brian

There is a forum for scenarios, this would be have better been posted there.

Where are your scenarios coming from - i.e. which website?

Are they WinSpWW2 and not SP1, Sp2WW2, the old (DOS) SPWW2?. Many scenarios for old game versions are still to be found on various websites. Unless converted to WinSPWW2 format, they will not load, or if they do, they will cause problems when playing.

I saw a similar message posted over at the Wargamer Forums so not sure you are the same.

As Andy mentioned, what it sounds like is you are trying to load to the wrong version (i.e. trying to load SPWAW scenario's in WinSPWW2 or vice versa). What is the name of the scenario(s) you are trying to load and what game engine are you loading them into (WinSPWW2 or SPWAW)?

There is another possibilty

If you try to load newer scenarios in an older version of the game that message will also appear.

I mention this only as a reminder to always upgrade to the latest version before trying to run third party sceanrios as well
