Give the guy a medal.
Awe +5, magic resistance 23, Const 4 equipped, SC Virtue attacking some indy tribe. Shaman casts Sleep Touch. 149 stun damage. OK, pretender has reinvigoration +7, she will wake back... Nope, very next turn, another Sleep Touch gets through Magic Resistance. Bye, pretender :-(
What is damn chance of nature ONE mage getting through MR 23 twice in a row?! |
Re: Give the guy a medal.
You could run a few tests to determine the actual chances by editing a .map file and setup a battle against lots of lvl_1 nature mages.

Re: Give the guy a medal.
10+DRN vs MR+DRN
or 10 vs 23. So a 6 on a six sided dice is required and a bad roll by the Virtue. |
Re: Give the guy a medal.
Around 1% for the first and 0,01% for two in a row.
Basically this means that you have tried to conquer too many provinces with SCs in your life XD |
Re: Give the guy a medal.
Not sure about the 2 in a row chances. Probably the second one has a lot of better chance becouse of your fatigue, like Crits in melee.

Re: Give the guy a medal.
About the first chance, assuming the Virtue rolled an average 6, if the indy shaman rolls a 12 (which happen quite often when you roll enough dice, indeed) then he only needs an 8 to beat the virtue again. About 1.5% of chances IF the virtue rolls average.

Re: Give the guy a medal.
Not only that but a touch attack! Mages are usually dead already when a touch spell is the best one for thier current situation.
