OT: Endgame: Singularity

Found this little gem a few days ago. It's a simple strategy game where you take on the role of an AI that's achieved sentience. You have to subvert computers to increase your power, earn money and conduct research to improve yourself. The tricky part is staying hidden, since if you're discovered, you will be destroyed.

It's pretty basic, but it's a heck of a lot of fun, so I thought I'd share it with you all. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Well try this one

http://inflash.com/flash/flashgame.p...amp;size_int=2

the idea is to find 10 gnomes on the roofs. You click on an area to zoom and bit by bit zoom into smaller areas till you find all the gnomes. Me personally, I can't find the last one although I gather I easily found the ones everyone else has trouble with.

Heh, that's actually pretty fun. And it gives me something to do while Singularity grinds through building 20,000 server access nodes. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/eek.gif

Try Battleships forever. Its amazing. Basicly its a strategic/tactical spaceship combat simulator. You can even design your own ships. Lots of mods and customs ships. Even 12 vessels from Babylon 5. Pretty addictive though, dont say i didnt warn ya.

After a long battle, the humans are no more. Returning to minbar, aiming for repairs.

That's a very quick way to lose the game!

With that many, odds are you'll hit 1500% suspicion on day one.

Except during the first 22 days, you cannot be detected. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif I just buy as many server nodes as I can, and research Personal Identification to get Intermediate Jobs as soon as possible. After that, it's possible to have near exponential growth of server nodes. Keep that up until day 14 or so, then do as much research as you can until day 22, then just tear everything down except for 2-3 bases.

After that, it's just a matter of staying under the radar long enough to build up your power to an unstoppable level.

You should be able to just download the Windows version and it should run fine. If not, try installing Python and Pygame and it should work fine then.

It doesn't seem to be an arbitrary time limit. It looks to me like you trigger this when you research Intrusion. Just hold off on Intrusion as long as you like to keep your 'free start' time open. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Interesting game, but needs a lot of work. The late stages of the game are frankly boring, for one thing. No wonder it's version .26...

It's not arbitrary at all... There's a fixed grace period in the code of 23 days, which means as soon as 22 rolls over to 23, the event is triggered, and after that you can be detected.

I've been fiddling around with it a bit to see if I can make the grace period dependent on the difficulty, so the harder the setting, the less time you have to get yourself established before the detection event occurs.
