Help!

Several issues:

1. Multiplayer game. Everytime I quit and save - the turn is uploaded to the server and runs. Regardless of the fact that I do NOT hit end turn.

I am playing on the server computer.

In keeping with this, is there anyway to wind back a turn? Not running a turn when your opponent does can be disastrous.

2. The game always prompts me (player 2) for Player #1 password, and bombs, requiring me to reconnect. At which point I can choose player 2, enter password and proceed.
Still its annoying to have to do this turn after turn.

3. periodically, even if a password is not entered for player #2, just hitting enter will allow any player to access the position.

Each of these issues has been seen multiple times.

Help!!!! & thanks.

Chris

Re: Help!

1) The easiest way is just to turn off quickhost until you finish your turn. Then when you've submitted your final orders and no-one else is connected, restart with quickhost back on.

There's no way to undo a turn if you don't have a backup of the game directory.

2) Don't connect to the server as a network client, just play the game. Don't use '-n' (nonationsel).

3) Never heard of this!

Quit and save SAVES the turn. In MP games it's adviced to connect to the server to download the new turn, then disconnect immediately and prepare the turn offline like a normal game. Playing on the server is not advised. Somebody else, I believe it was Argitoth, had a similar issue recently, you should search for his thread for answers.

Backup the folder in your savedgames directory.

Do not play games on the server computer. Unless you use the solution that I have described to Argitoth.

Passwords are cached as long as your game is up. You only have to type it in once, then that nation's password is "known" for that game. If you close the game you'll have to re-enter the password again.
