Breen Race

I noticed in the Breen_AI_general.txt file there appears to an error with race opt 3. It reads as follows: Race Opt 3 Num Characteristics := 2 Race Opt 3 Characteristic 1 Type := Cunning Race Opt 3 Characteristic 1 Amount := 90 Race Opt 3 Characteristic 2 Type := Political Savy Race Opt 3 Characteristic 2 Amount := 90 Race Opt 3 Num Advanced Traits := 4 Race Opt 2 Adv Trait 1 := Advanced Storage Techniques Race Opt 2 Adv Trait 2 := Hardy Industrialists Race Opt 3 Adv Trait 3 := Advanced Power Conservation Race Opt 3 Adv Trait 4 := Propulsion Experts Should Advanced Storage Techniques and Hardy Indutrialists be Race Opt 3 instead of race Opt 2. You probably already caught it, but I couldn't find a more recent upload than the one on June 28. |

I am not sure. Those files, as stated in the read-me text, came from the Namr from Mephisto. I only changed the names and minor description text to fit the breen.
All I do know is that out of all the AI I have faced in my Last few games, the Breen have consistantly KICK butt. I am just the opposite. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif I like a game that starts out slow, and allows you to build up. I have increased the cost of every ship class to research, and made Q-reactors very expensive to use. I like the idea of fleets needing supply ships. Additionally, I do start the game out with Destroyers though. I am considering the following classes. War Cruiser Juggernought Stike Cruiser Scout Cutter Capital Ship Gunship (Fighters) Runnabout Interceptor Bomber I also change a few other things to improve my game. I am a little ticked that the AI maxes out its ship construction research early on, and then runs around the galaxy with Dreadnoughts and does not diversify its ship classes. My solution to this would be to make the cost of ship construction research very expensive, and mod the AI to use a more balanced fleet. Eventually, I am going to put together my own race. The problem is that I always mod the techarea.txt file to start out with higher levels so that I can speed the game up. I like to start out with such things as Quantum Reactor, solar sails, and battle cruisers, facilities level III...never any weapons. I am afraid that building a race with modified starting levels would screw up other peoples strategies and make my new race worthless.
