Fortifications/Dug-In Units
Hello All, I have a scenario which I once made (very recently) which I would now like to do over with a different set of OOBs but with the same map. It is an assault/defend scenario, and one side is dug-in as a result. My aim here is to clear the sandbagged vehicle markers and foxholes from the existing map as part of the scenrio redesign but can't seem to find a way to do this. Anyone know how this can be done? Thanks, Christian |
Re: Fortifications/Dug-In Units
Clear them one by one in the map editor with the clear terrain button. This is what I do anyway.

Re: Fortifications/Dug-In Units
If you are designing a scenario, good practice is that you should save the map off to a file, before placing any units. It is then very easy to design any variant scenarios in the future - simply load the 'virgin' map from file as the first step in designing your variant scenario, before beginning to purchase troops.
Editing an existing scenario from one nation to another using the scenario editor is not a good idea - the HQ units, and thus the default nationalities, will be the same as for the original design. That can cause plenty of subsequent knock-on side effects. You could try saving your modified map as it is to a map file - that should (I think) save it without any extras. Then start the scenario variant design from scratch using the map alone. Cheers Andy |
Re: Fortifications/Dug-In Units
Andy,
Argh. I'm adding this one to the "lessons learned" file. Good advice, though. Marcello: You hit it on the head. I was trying to clear the foxholes with the "level one" hill button as they were on a hill. It appears that you MUST use the clear function regardless of where the entrenchments reside. Thanks, Christian |
