Cyprus, Slovakia and Chechen OOB
Cyprus.
units 330 and 331 - Mi-26 - an erroneous photo from Mi-6. Slovakia unit 216 - UAZ 66 - a wrong name and a photo - correct GAZ-66 The Chechen Republic unit 081 - GAZ-3937 - it cannot be at them. unit 130 - UAZ 66 - a wrong name - GAZ-66 unit 155 - 82mm Vasilek is not AT-gun, it is a mortar. unit 212 - BMP-2K is commander BMP. It should not be in OOB. units 213-214 - BMP-3 - very strongly I doubt that these BMP can be on arms in this army. |
Re: Cyprus, Slovakia and Chechen OOB
Vasilek as "AT-Gun" represents the weapon in direct-fire mode.
|
Re: Cyprus, Slovakia and Chechen OOB
Vasilek - can shoot direct-fire, but it does not become from it AT-gun.
|
Re: Cyprus, Slovakia and Chechen OOB
But AT Gun class is one of classes that allows direct fire only, so if you want to simulate Vasilek in DF and don't want the AI to use it in indirect mode, why not use this class? Mind you the unit classes are tool to get to the goal, not the goal itself, when I was modding WW2 Czechoslovakia OOB I used various obscure armor classes like "Super heavy tank" for parts of the bunkers. The same goes here with Vasilek/"AT-Gun".

Cyprus photo error corrected
Gaz / Uaz problem already reported and corrected weeks ago RE: The Chechen Republic Some of the equipment in the Chechen OOB represents captured equipment and much of what was selected is a guess as there is little detail available or it was chosen to fill some gap in the equipment roster. Although I'm sure the entire subject could be debated to death many of these are decision the original OOB designer made based on scant information and 5 years later it's easy to second guess someone who isn't around any longer. Re: Cyprus, Slovakia and Chechen OOB
I do not have exact proofs.
You think that the Chechen insurgents - could grasp this technics. But as far as I know the Chechen insurgents after 1996-1997 never used the heavy armour technics, BMP, tanks, etc. BMP-2K - It can not be used in any OOB is commander BMP. |
Re: Cyprus, Slovakia and Chechen OOB
Hallo
Slovakian S-300PMU (SA-10 Grumble) - unit 121 should have start date in 1993 (not 2005) because it was inherited from Czechoslovakia (the only SAM battalion with this system which Czechoslovakia had). |
