Drop troops
 

Is anybody here who has an idea what the the 'drop troops' ability works for? I have tried to mod a 'troop pod', something like a cargo bay but only for troops, so you will be forced to build transports (for pop, weaponplatforms etc.) and troop transports, but it doesn't work.

Not everything in the abilities.txt file actually does anything.

"drop troops" appears to be one such item, because it is not an ability for any of the current vehicle types or comonents. It must be one of those things he is intending to add at a later date, or got eliminated for whatever reason.
