Problems with hosting games on a Mac?
Has anyone else had problems with hosting Dom 3 on a Mac? I tried hosting from a PPC 1.33 ghz Mac with 1GB of RAM with the latest Dom 3 patch. I was also playing on the same machine. I noticed two strange things. The first was that I could not connect over the internet to my host game, but I could connect locally. No big deal, but a little strange. The second thing is that the game crashed frequently (about twice in 2 hours). The game was created from game menu, not the commandline. The window for the game would just vanish in the middle of the game. The OS's built in crash reporter did not notice this at all. So I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar problems or any ideas for how to resolve the problem. Maybe it's just an issue with attempting to host the game and play from the same computer, but I'm not sure. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif

Re: Problems with hosting games on a Mac?
Argitoth has reported crashes after a few hours when hosting on a mac, too.
I got my hands on a Macbook x86. I'll start two games before I get to sleep, one from the GUI and one from the command line, and look if they will be crashing. Maybe a third one with background graphics and OpenGL disabled as well. |
