I am trying not to laugh, but if this is true, how much are they going to charge for ISP access to it? $500.00 a month or more?

I still remember when charging $40+ for very primitive dial-up wasn't out of the question. I imagine it's going to be very selective to research institutions for quite some time.

Wow!!! With that speed the spammers can really dump on you!

I hope they are very selective of who they let on this. I would hate to see the hackers have a field day with high speed viruses and spyware.

That story was about as inaccurate and misleading as most FOX "News" stories.

Nothing wrong with ultra high speed grid,.. but currently we do not have the technology to 'Write' 80gig in 5 seconds. The only way we can come close is to do direct dump from grid to RAM. (and I'm not even sure our current through-ports to RAM can transfer that fast) So unless the target computer has like a few thousand gigs of ram. The HD is going to be the deciding factor on how fast you can receive data.

The trick would be to buy one, and then have a whole server farm or subdivision plugged in.
