Problem with SPww2 3.0 upgrade
Hi, today I have downloaded both the SPMBT and SPww2 upgrades. No problem with the SPMBT upgrade, but when I try to upgrade the SPww2 nothing happens. The installer program says that the upgrade is OK, but when I launch the game I find the 2.5 version. I tried many times, but nothing happened.
Thanks in advance |

Maybe try DL it again. I have an old POS computer w/dial up and I had no problem's getting mine loaded and working.
Just my 2 cent's worth. |
Re: Problem with SPww2 3.0 upgrade
BOTH installers are set up to extract the new files to the default program locations we set the original games up in and have been tested by a dozen different people before it was uploaded. If you put your copy of the game in any other location and didn't point the new installer at it then it will be extracting the new files into a place your game isn't.
The WW2v3 installer put's the new files in .. C:\Program Files\Shrapnel Games\The Camo Workshop\WinSPWW2 If you didn't change that then that's where you'll find the patch files An alternate explanation is you clicked on and DL'd the 2.5 upgrade instead of the 3.0 Don |
Re: Problem with SPww2 3.0 upgrade
Hi Don, thanks for your answer, unfortunately I have downloaded (twice) the correct upgrade(3.0)and I have installed it in
C:\Program Files\Shrapnel Games\The Camo workshop\WinSPWW2 where is my SPWW2 game. I have made the same thing with SPMBT and it is all OK. I am afraid, but I think I must uninstall the entire game and reinstall. Regards Massimo |
Re: Problem with SPww2 3.0 upgrade
Double check the shortcut you commonly use to start the game. You may have set up a second installation of the game and forgotten about it ( we've seen that happen more than once ) The next step would be to go right to C:\Program Files\Shrapnel Games\The Camo workshop\WinSPWW2 after installing the patch and clicking on the WinSPWW2.exe and see what version appears when the game starts.
A last resort solution would be to extract the patch to a "TEST" folder then manually copy all the files to the main game but I suspect you may have more than one installation of the game. Don |
