1) there is some differences between shadowbrand and firebrand?
2) there is a way i can wish for heroes apart the arco one?

1. Yes. Shadowbrand uses a spell called Leeching Darkness that doesn't affect lifeless things and is like Area 3, while Firebrand is Area 1 and only does fire damage.

2. If you wish for the unit type, you can get the unit. for example, Koshei is a Bogarus hero who's unit name is Deathless. Wish for "deathless" to get her.

Any Wish for "hero" only gets the Arco one.

1) Firebrand has small area fire, Shadow Brand has leeching darkness, they are different effects.

2) For national heroes who are "<name> the Hero", no. For other heroes, wishing by monster type, such as Heroine, Witch Hunter General etc will get you that hero.

Will this work for any nation? I.e. can you get the Witch Hunter General as LA Ermor, granted you've been able to get enough S and research to Wish?

Also, can you wish for monsters by unit number? Has anyone tried?

Any unit can be wished for by name, except duplicates and Doom Horrors.

Numbers don't work.

You can wish for any unit with a unique name, which is the name in the middle at the very top. You can wish for heros, other pretenders, other national only summons whatever...

Also you can in some cases have more than 1, for example wish Gorgon, will get you a Gorgon pretender (besides your own), you need to gift of reason it, to be a commander. You can wish for multiple Gorgons who will all be commanders when GoR.
