Listening to Dominion\'s music files...

After playing for countless hours, the game's music is starting to get stuck in my head, and I sometimes find myself wanting to listen to it while not playing the game. I've tried opening the .al music files in the rawsound directory, but none of the programs I've tried seem to be able to open them correctly.

Is there any word on how to either listen to these files as they are, or convert them to wavs/mp3s?

All the links to the audio files don't work, but they have links to the cd.

All right! There's even more of Draam's songs than is in the game.

Do the "Maria" and "Fikon" files also come from full CDs somewhere?

Those were probably made by the same people, possibly when they were still Falsobordone. Try to find list of songs on various CDs and listen through the Falsobordone samples.

The video files have vanished, unfortunately. Three of the four songs still available there I've heard before in Dominions, and I'm pretty sure it was Dominions 3. I did play DomII as well, so some might only have appeared in there.

Searching for "Cantigas de Santa Maria", I found this:

Attending a renessaince faire and having that music in the background... That'd be awesome, and somewhat scary.

Falsobordone links are mostly outdated, though, so I don't know if you can find much more.

You can listen to them using a program called Goldwave. It's freeware. (At least my version is :S It is several years old though)
When you try to load them, it would probably not be able to recognize what format they are, I'm not sure what the right one to use is, and what settings, but if you toy around with it enough you should reach a result. (I think it was either RAW or ALAW and with certain settings to make it sound like it should.)
You can even use that program to save them as another format, but that requires some trickery that I'm not sure if I should get into...

My god, this is just what I was looking for. Even two hours of searching didn't turn up a player that worked, but after a bit of tweaking, this one is perfect.

When you go about your business today, take a moment every so often to think that somewhere someone in the world is very thankful to you.
