problem gettting game started
 

One of my players has this problem. I'd be grateful for any advice.

" I am having trouble getting the game started. I create my race, using the empires setup that you outline, and when I hit begin, the screen says creating race, and fills up, and then says creating galaxy, and seems to do nothing. The music plays, and nothing. any idea?"

I seem to remember a problem a few versions back where trying to start a large game with something like 10 homeworlds caused the game to freeze.

I can't say I've had such a problem for awhile. I don't use the music so who knows perhaps turning off music will fix it. Don't know how useful that is.

Thanks for your reply. I stepped him through the setup and it appears like it might have been because he had not specified a directory for the multiplayer files. Odd, though, since in the boxed version, it warns you of the problem...
