Bug or feature, I don\'t know.

If you are laying siege to a castle, you can see the number and general type of magic sites on the main screen. However, you can not see the details. However, if you hit F1 and then look at the province, and then mouse over the site, the name and full description will be revealed.

I a guessing this is a bug, as control of the sites seems to rest with the holder of the castle, but I am not sure.

It's a feature.

Just take a look at the shortlist to see all the siege related issues. This is one of them. Sites in a province belong to the one who controls the province. In a siege situation, neither side is in full control of the province. The one inside the castle controls temple, lab and magic sites. The one outside controls the tax rate (but does not get the income) and PD (if he gets some by event, for example, but he can't buy any).

Because control is split this way, the province shows up in the nation overview, in which case it also shows the sites.

It does seem strange that you can't ID the sites in the main window, but you can in the nation overview.

And I thought the besieger got at least some of the income?

On besieger getting income:
When besieging, if you adjust the tax rate, the changes are reflected in your total income. Now whether or not you actually see those returns, I can't say for certain, but I always thought you did get that gold.

Are you sure about the gold income? I just took a sweet province and my income jumped, while the opponent's dived. However, that is just based on graphs, I did not check actual income.

If you are right, most of the time I would drop the tax to zero, hurt the enemy income and quell unrest. Even if I though I would lose the seige, I would still zero the taxes, unless I thought it was worth getting the unrest up high.

It's actually possible that both parties get the full income or the income is split equally between besieger and defender. In the LeafNosedBat game, I'm down to only my capital and under siege. Yet I still have income. It'd be nice to know what Carkaton is getting out of it.

From what I noticed during sieges I may say that besieging side receives all income from the province as if there were no fort and the besieged side receives income from fort admin bonus. It always seemed so.

I am sure that when you sige enemy capitol you do not get full income. More like half of it or even less.

Owner of fort gets admin % of the income. Besieger gets the rest.

You are not supposed to see the exact sites, just the general type of site. I didn't know that you could use F1 to get additional info. It might not be a big issue, since you will probably get the gems soon anyway.
