SE3 Problem in Vista
 

Hello, I'm having a problem in Vista running Space Empires III. The game was running good for several months, but recently, it has stopped playing in-game sound (weapons in tactical combat, the intro song, etc.) I've already checked the options to make sure that sound was selected, and tried other copies of SE3 on the same computer. Any help would be appreciated.

I honestly have no idea what the problem might be, but can you think of any hardware or software changes you made to your computer around the time that the sound quit playing? If there were any, it's a good bet that the change had something to do with it.

Have you tried running it in compatibility mode for Win95/98? Not sure why that would make a difference, but it's all I can think of.

You can also try a system rollback to a date prior when the sound worked.
