EEEvil Empire has arrived...and brought friends :)
Ok folks, the first release of the EEEvil Empire is finally here (hmm...presents for all of you on my birthday....weird but works for me http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/ima...ons/icon12.gif)..
It is posted in the shipset/mod section, as well as another pet project of mine the Red Gauntlets Mercinary Guild Unit (or just the Red Gauntlets for short)... Many thanks goes out to Andres for the conception/birth of the EEEvil shipset, he warped the original EEE and made them look quite....disturbing..... http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif Thanks also goes out to Spoo/Askan for their role in 'helping' the EEEvil evolve ( and get their butts handed to them in pbw http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/ima...ons/icon12.gif) as well as any other players who have butted heads with the EEEvil or the Red Gauntlets. Comments/suggestions are MORE than welcome, this is a work in progress, tweaks will be made and 'patches' will be released for all my shipset AI's (I for one am VERY anal when it comes to a few things...se4 being one of them http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/ima...ons/icon12.gif). Things that 'may' have to be worked on is the Vehicle Construct txt for the EEEvil depending on how the space yard ships and kamikaze/boarding ships work and the attack ships for the gauntles depending on how the use of 'smart bombs' goes. On a side note there is also an alt race pic for the EEEvil with the shipset for those who don't appreciate my style of humor, use that and the default speech file/diff shipnames file and all will be well. Heh!, funny thing is I play the EEEvil alot like a slightly 'nuttier' Version of Gollum.
A few people were interested in game stats for the EEEvil, ie, expansion rate etc. I have started a new game, and will post the results here. It contains a LOT of user made races, so a few familiar faces will pop up. Game Stats: Med Cluster (wormhole anywhere), Med Tech start (low cost), 3 good planets, Intell OFF, Maxed out starting resources, 400ships/3000units. 5000 point emps. I am playing a Religious/Crystal/Hardy/Adv. Storage race. rock/oxy for planets. The AI's: with turn 1 stats: I start out in 10th of 12th positions The Vaxin 4th, Xi'Chung (tdm-xpert) 1st EEEvil Empire 6th Addisian Empire (latest Version) 8th Red Gauntlets 2nd StarWars Empire 1(my AI, latest Version) 3rd Aquilaeian Empire 5th Toron Confed. (tdm) 7th Zorian (latest AI) 11th Orks (latest AI) 10th Dragons AI beta 1.0(for Andres), 12th. oh, as a Last note, this is a sim-move game so it is played just like pbw/pbemail, strat combat only, move at end of turn etc. Makes it much more difficult, AI's are set at max difficulty and on Med bonus...

I noticed that in your game, the Vaxin are dropping in the standings. I'm curious if you have any observations on how they are doing that might make them better.

I attribute the Vaxin dropping due to the fact that their home system has little in the way of planets to colonize, the adjoining systems are all non-planets(just asteroids) or nebula, except for a system they are fighting over with the Orks and the Addisian home system, who they are also at war with. Combine this with the fact that both they and the Addisian colonize gas giants this spells trouble from the start. The system was a med cluster so the AI would have time to get a good start in their own clusters, didn't quite turn out that way...Am compiling turn 50 stats right now, havn't posted due to other things happening but I will post stats in a little while. As of turn 50 the Vaxin stand in 10th place, at war with two empires (Orks, Addisian), with only 4 planets (Aquilaeian have 27!!, Empire has 18 and the EEEvil have 12...).
Yep, I would put their place totally due to their starting position, which means everything in this game..No matter how good the AI is....(other games I have played they have remained top 3-4) Anyone else have thoughts on the Vaxin??
