PBEM Campaign PLA vs Greece - Battle for Africa
Just finished the first battle and it was excellent. Despite the Deathmatch aspect to it, the game called it a Draw and awarded enough point to rebuild a force fitting the glorious PLA and it's defence of it's African Allies from the clutches of the running dogs of the decadent West.
Not sure how the Hellenic Army made out, but as promised, we are to engage in combat in the next battle as we race across the open savannah at each other. Now if I can just get my troops to quit taking wildlife pictures and attend to the business of war!!! #$%^^#* Bet Mao didn't put up with this nonsense on the Long March!!!! The first one was a fun battle. I didn't have many points for repairs though, so...we will see.

GR vs CH in Africa? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...s/confused.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/eek.gif
BTW, what kind of Africa? Subsahara or "Gorillas in the mist" type of terrain? |
Re: PBEM Campaign PLA vs Greece - Battle for Africa
Neither.
Something like steppes. |
Re: PBEM Campaign PLA vs Greece - Battle for Africa
At this time savannah.
Premise is in the not too far future, Western interests and Chinese virtual ownership of African resources collides. Greece is part of a motley-national force trying to shutdown a number of puppet regimes which have cut off the West their resources. The US long embroiled in the Middle East, has left this job to other Allies under the brand new NATO replacement WOSECTO (World Security Treaty Organisation). Under this Treaty, the shiny new WSF has been activated at the request of 6 African WOSECTO members. Greece is part of the World Security Force deployed. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...es/biggrin.gif |
Re: PBEM Campaign PLA vs Greece - Battle for Africa
and what an interesting battle it was.
Huge amount of losses on both sides. Close battle. But eventualy, the natives will start eating greek salad. |
Re: PBEM Campaign PLA vs Greece - Battle for Africa
Have not looked yet, but I assume my retreat ended the battle.
Is it so? |
Re: PBEM Campaign PLA vs Greece - Battle for Africa
LOL, in a way.
EDIT: I didn't mean to sound like an a-hole. The battle did end, but you lost some units that were on their way to retreat. |
Re: PBEM Campaign PLA vs Greece - Battle for Africa
Never took it that way at all my friend.
My RO RO Fleet has made though the WOSECTO's poor excuse for a naval blockcade off the east coast of Africa and has managed yet again to bandage my forces back into a reasonable fighting force. I only wish state of the art artillery was cheap!! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif |
Re: PBEM Campaign PLA vs Greece - Battle for Africa
Second battle had a similar flavour to the first and ended in a Draw. Picture a mass of wreckage strewn across the battlefield with the local now coming out to "recycle" all that hi-tech gear.
Even tried using Hovercraft to swiftly move troops into the objectives but found out the hard wary Hovercraft lose a fair bit of speed over land!! My forces are starting to feel the strain of these Death matches. I love to have a chat with the Briefing Officer who said we would be against mostly Third World low-tech forces!!! HA!! One can only hope the Greeks lose their resolve to fight us, remembering there are billions of us and no media hanging around our neck like an anvil!! ;) Col Tsao PLAEFA signs:cool: BTW Say hi to Wife and Son:) |
