Most Efficient Shipsize

What shipsize do you guys stick with from mid to late game? I usually slowly tech my way to light cruiser, making sure to maintain the 15-16 speed with engine upgrades. I only make the jump to cruisers when I have enough research points to upgrade the lost speed and defense.

Has anyone stuck to destroyers? Is it worth the loss in speed and increase in cost and build time to keep going bigger?

it depends on what you are using ship for - a medical ship , use smallest size , fastest speed and basic componets - an ECM ship , cruiser , basic components , crammed with sensors and such .

Does the mere presence of an ecm ship cause all enemy ships to miss more? I thought it only mattered if said ship was being targeted.

Anyway, I'm talking about ships that are needed in an attack fleet. Anything else, efficiency does not matter.

ECM only protects the ship using it.

You could make it apply to the whole fleet by using a Sector - This Player scope... of course, it would also apply to planets... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/image...ies/tongue.gif
