A few questions from a newbie!
Because I'm not much of a programmer, I have had the game only a couple of weeks; What do the .emp files do? What application does it take to view and edit it? Can you edit a new component like a warp generator, so that only some ships can travel between stars? Can you make a Star Gate facility/base/component (for regulating star travel)? Kinda looking at the game for designing a couple of old Favorites mine. "WARP WAR" and SPI's "APHA CENTAURI" not to mention Larry Nivens "MOTE IN GOD"S EYE" any help will be appreciated.

Use the "add existing" "new", and "edit" function in the player menu of the new game setup.
quote:
Can you edit a new component like a warp generator, so that only some ships can travel between stars?

No. But you can fudge it by making Really Big fighters, or by making it a very damaging point, making special armor to handle it, then making all weapons skip armor. If a warp point is there, a ship can use it.
quote:
Can you make a Star Gate facility/base/component (for regulating star travel)?

No. Only way to regulate travel is by force or threat thereof.
quote:
Kinda looking at the game for designing a couple of old Favorites mine.
