Maps of earth being worked on?
 

Hello i was wondering if any maps of earth are being worked on or if any already exist? The reason i am asking is because I am "planning" to start one myself but would rather focus on something else if something like this is already in the works/done. (Its alot of work to create a map and if somebody releases an ultra-omfgzorz-wow map while im in the middle of mine it would piss me off :P )

As I said I am planning on doing this and if i change my mind ill be sure to let people know ^^

Well there are two world maps to my knowledge... which were originally created for DOM_2, but should still work for DOM_3. They can be found at Illwinter.com when browsing into DOM_2. I've only played the world map which was created by Illwinter and after 3 games it became obvious the map was EXTREMELY unbalanced. Europe was provided a twisted powerful edge of abundant gold and magic sites.
Looks like a regular gamer has a world map as well on the site, but I never tried this one.

PashaDawg has made a few maps based on some regions of Earth, such as Bering, but other than the Dom2 world maps, there are none that I know of.

yeah i know of the region maps but im speaking of a map of the complete planet

Two version of the World Map for Dominions 2 here. Both work for Dom3, but could probably use some updating.

guess ill still think about it... I have a very large map image i want to use. hmm we'll see

I was trying to make one, but I didnt feel like making a tga from scratch, and using very large files was cumbersome (a problem I found is that with a standard map you´ll find that zones cover too big pieces of territory. This is particularily bad in Europe, which one would expect to give for more strategical possibilities than one, or possibly two, provinces), so I have it on hold for the moment..
