Getting back into the game: A few questions

Hi, I am getting back into the game because I got a new computer, and the game seems to run at an acceptable speed on it (whereas later turns would take 15-plus minutes on my older machines).

So I've forgotten much of the game, and I thought to ask a very basic question first: Where is the explanation of what the AI difficulty translates to in terms of actual advantages that the AI get? I can't find it in the manual. Right now I am starting a game at "Difficult AI," and I am wondering that's acceptable for a player who hasn't played for a while.

Also, is there a way to organize the commander screen so that I can lump non-magic users and magic users separately?

Finally, I recall that there was a dev website where the developer(s) listed upcoming changes for future patches. Can someone link me to that site?

I am sure I will have more questions in the future, but this shall suffice for now. As you all know, this game is massive in both scale and complexity and is thus resistant to mastery on one sitting :)

Anyways, thanks in advance!

Also, I noticed that there is a game option choice called "cheat prevention is active."

Does this mean there ARE cheats? I thought you couldn't cheat mid-game?

Manual, FAQ, Bug shortlist thread. Those will answer most of your quick and dirty questions, such as AI bonuses. Start with the FAQ.

There were ways to cheat in Dom2, as shown by the many flagrant abuses of Norfleet. However I have a feeling posting how he managed it might get this thread shut down. Suffice to say tho that those holes appear to have been covered (at least via a warning) in the current game.

Here is the link you wanted.

The cheat detection switch allows for creating gods which exceed the games limits amoung other things. I see it usually used to create a scenario game with an extremely strong AI.
