Thread subscription email
 

How can I get this forum software to send me email when someone posts a new message to a thread I choose to subscribe to?

I have tried setting "Default Thread Subscription Mode:" to immediate notification, but it does not seem to be doing it - I set it last night, got a message of a subscribed thread this morning, and no email about it is in my inbox nor my spam folder.

Also, is there a way to subscribe to threads only manually, not automatically when I post a reply to one?

When you're viewing a thread, go up to thread tools and select subscribe with instant notification. I think this will do the trick for you. A read through this may also help:
