OT: Euro Board Games and a PBEM Boardgame Web Site
 

Dominions reminds me of a complex fantasy board game and seems there might be some overlap in its appeal with some of the Euroboard games that have been evolving over the last few years. I have a friend who organizes a Bay Area Board gaming group and through him I have learned a lot of great games that have come out: Puerto Rico, Race for the Galaxy, Ra, Tikal, Tigris & Euphrates among some of the best. Anyway, this weekend I learned another by one of the master designers Rheiner Knizia called Amun-Re. And this game is playable by e-mail for free, along with some others like Tikal, at a website http://www.spielbyweb.com/.


Anyway, just thought that might be of interest to some of the folks here. If anyone plays Tikal or Amun-Re, lets organize a game! I have yet to learn the others on the website, but from experience its usually easier to learn playing the actual board game first, then try it online. I'd also be curious to know if there are other websites like this that offer free PBEM games.
