foot vs horseback
A dumb question perhaps but are scouts that ride horses as stealthy as scouts on foot? One assumes that a horse is a rather large beast and it would be tough to stay unseen in any type of clear terrain. I ask because I've got some cavalry scouts in my core and I'm not sure if it's worth it.
Thanks in advance Steve |
Re: foot vs horseback
Your line of thought is correct, however they are still scouts and used carefully, well they should work out, then again a lot of this may depend on the terrain you have to scout. They most certainly easier to spot.

Re: foot vs horseback
Just for the record, being scouts (as a unit class) does not give any bonus to stealth or spotting. Most scout units have a (small) bonus to experience and morale and that gives them slightly above average abilities. As scout units are smaller they are usually a size smaller which helps them stay unspotted. Finally they carry less equipment so most scouts get a point more movement. That makes it easier to avoid detection or get out of trouble.
Staying unseen and seeing as much as possible yourself is a survival trait for all combat troops, not just scouts. Narwan |
