Aircraft Unavailability in Battle Mode
Whenever I go into battle mode and buy units, it seems that there is a certain number X, between 1 and 10, such that:
- After I buy X combat aircraft formations (including attack helicopters and strike elements, but not utility, heavy lift, or scout helicopters) all aircraft (including utility, heavy lift, and scout helicopters) disappear from the formations list. - If I delete any combat aircraft formations, the unavailable units become available again - but they disappear again if I purchase any number of combat aircraft formations totaling X. X changes every time I start a battle. Furthermore, if I buy any aircraft at all, including utility/heavy lift/scout helicopters, all aircraft become unavailable to the second player (they are unavailable if I set the second player's purchase to "human" and the AI apparently won't buy them either). I have had this bug on two separate computers, one running Win98 and one running Vista. Thanks if you can help. |

Check the game preferences. You can set the X number yourself for a battle. It's a feature not a bug.

Re: Aircraft Unavailability in Battle Mode
Leaving airsorties to "XXX" accesses the internal game code for aircraft availabity. That number is variable and that's why it changes from game to game and that's why when it's set to XXX sometimes if one side buys aircraft the other side won't get any. It depends on the opponent.
If you want a fixed number of airsorties set the number for both sides however you want. If you set both sides to 4 both sides will get 4 airsorties if they have the points available to buy four airsorties The game is functioning exactly the way it should be. There is no "bug" Don |
