Star Trek: Of Gods and Men (possible SE4 shipset)
Okay - I just stumbled across the fan film "Star Trek: Of Gods and Men", and an idea struck me to possibly make a shipset for SE4 based on the Galactic Order.
I'd love to hear what anyone thinks of this idea. Here's a couple of views for a quick run-up I did for a heavy cruiser. (NOTE: edited with now-corrected insignia) http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e8...ionclass01.png http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e8...ionclass02.png |
Re: Star Trek: Of Gods and Men (possible SE4 shipset)
Great work BK, BUT it looks like the "Standard" Federation Heavy Cruiser or Constitution class starship with a different paint job. Is there suposed to be a difference from the standard hull?

Re: Star Trek: Of Gods and Men (possible SE4 shipset)
Not majorly, other that the addition on an "Omega Device" launcher along the lower hull. The main significance is the overall appearance/markings.
I guess my "Trekkiness" must be showing :o, because I somehow thought more people would be familiar with that Fan Film. I'd heard about it on CNN, so I thought it was a bit more widely known. |

Nice set. Awesome work.
I have seen a new Star Trek trailer too. My hopes for this movie are not high. |

My opinion - J.J. Abrams just stuck a knife in the back of the Star Trek franchise, and gave it a good, hard twist.... :soap: |
Re: Star Trek: Of Gods and Men (possible SE4 shipset)
Yup, and he did so with the full on blessing of the studio punks who never ever watched any of the four original series. (Enterprise doesn't count as it was off cannon.)
The new bridge of the Enterprise is like an apple store, completely punked out. Kirk in this movie is a young twenty something cock-head who bangs Uhra who is nothing more than a ****ty sex symbol. JJ Abrams has taken the military responsible adult character that was the undertone of the original series completely out of the movie and made Kirk into some mythological man of destiny instead of a man driven by the military credo of his ship, his duty, his people. Now he is just some cocky punk hot rodster with no discipline and even less manly character. This new Kirk would get his *** kicked hard core by Picard and that isn't a compliment for Picard. The fact that Kirk knows Spock from the academy, as in they went through it together, is complete off reality. After the abysmal failure of Enterprise one would have thought that these yuppie punk bastards running the studio today would have gotten the God damn messages to stop trying to "re-inventing" a cult iconic series. |
Re: Star Trek: Of Gods and Men (possible SE4 shipset)
 Glitz and Glitter are now the fashion statement of the Star Trek series. Gene Roddenberry is probably turning in his grave. I've seen the trailer too! An officer as depicted in that trailer, :sorry: would never be given ANY command of anything! :jaw:
