But alas I have no dvd player

Just scouting out for some personal prefrences in the world of dvd players.

Thank you in advance.

If you have a DVD player in your computer, there's a DVD function built-in to WIndows media Player. You have to set something in the registry to enable it. From http://members.aol.com/axcel216/newtip16.htm#FDP:

Do you have a DVD drive attached to and properly configured in your computer?
If you do, here is a little Registry hack which allows you to play your DVD movies using Microsoft Windows Media Player2 v6.4 (WMP6) 32-bit for Windows 9x/NT [3.5 MB, free].
If you are using Microsoft Windows Media Player2 v7.0/7.1 (WMP7) 32-bit for Windows 98/2000/ME [10 MB, free], note that the DVD play feature has been disabled. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon9.gif
After installing WMP6, run Regedit and go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\P layer\Settings

Right-click in the right hand pane -> select New -> String Value -> name it EnableDVDUI. Double-click on it -> type yes in the Value data box -> click OK.
Close the Registry Editor and restart Windows when done.
From now on you can open Media Player2 -> click File -> Open -> select DVD -> finally hit the Play button.
You'll also notice a new DVD icon which shows the DVD menu when clicked.

* End quote

But you do need to have a relatively uptodate DirectX Version installed. At least 6.0 I think. It's not a really good player, and I hear there's a special player on the Win98 SE CD distribution, too. But this is an option, anyway.

Nope no DVD anywhere in the house.

Watching Enterprise. Wow is it ever different. Ship looks good. Really good.

Won't say anything else since most channels are carrying it tomorrow.
