High scores table or hall of fame
I was quite surprised of missing high score table in SE4. I cannot understand this.
Any comments? |
Re: High scores table or hall of fame
Hey starwindz, you are right, and it never occurred to me...
This would be a definite superb addition to the game! A table with: (thoughts anyone?) Game Name: Race: Leader Name: Year: (# turns) Status: (Victory/Loss) Shouldn't be too difficult... |
Re: High scores table or hall of fame
Someone (ie not me) could even set up a website, so you can post your games files and have your scores added to a grand global scoreboard.
------------------ SE4 Code: L GdY $ Fr- C- Sd T!+ Sf-- Tcp-- A% M>M+ MpD! RV Pw Fq+ Nd- Rp+ G- /SE4 Code Go to my meagre SEIV pages to generate your own code. |

Even if you ignore the fact that that game can be easily modified, or setup a special scoreboard for every major mod, the conditions of game play are so wildly variable that comparing scores is meaningless. A game with 'Only colonize your own atmosphere' and 'Only colonize your own planet type' enabled is completely different than a game with all planets available. A game with stellar manipulations techs disabled is completely different than a game that allows them. There's no end to the possible variations. So, there's no reason for MM to try to build a "Hall of Fame" or other score tracking into the game. That only works for video games or other very narrow systems. Re: High scores table or hall of fame
You are right, Baron. But I still want to see SCORES HISTORY.
You said that comparing scores is meaningless. That's right. But saving scores history is still good feature for SE4? (NOT COMPARING, JUST ONLY HISTORY) <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Baron Munchausen: Yes, the reason is obvious.
