PBEM Security Bypass
Wdll and I are engaged in a PBEM campaign. Forgetting to download his latest turn file, I went in, not seeing his nation flag up, and entered my password. Obviously, it didn't take my password. Realizing I didn't download the latest file, I was going to do a hard kill of the game (ALT-CTRL-DEL). Somewhere, in the sequence of events, which are on the sketchy side at best, I ended up starting his turn. I closed it out quickly, not wanting to cheat my opponent and passed the information on to him. He would agree that somehow I saw his side of the game.
I realize this isn't enough to fix a bug as of yet. Before I try to retrace my steps and recreate the issue so there is something tangible to work with, I want to find out something old or new. Trying to recreate the issue might clobber our campaign or give me an unfair advantage and don't want to bother for old news. |
Re: PBEM Security Bypass
Already had this problem, though, the file became corrupt and we had to restart, looks like a backdoor, if you want to avoid it, try to alt+tab or press the key between ctrl and alt(can't remember its name)

Re: PBEM Security Bypass
I considered that as being possible, but the file corruption was not a problem since I hadn't downloaded the new turn file to begin with. Everything was fine once I did that. The best way to avoid it would be for me to pay more attention. I didn't notice my opponent's flag until after I messed up.
