Auto Site searching
 

I just read the thread on the Auto site searching and have a question.

In plain words what I understand is this...

If you have manually site searched with a level 2 E Mage then the auto search will see this as an unlikely candidate to search?

What happens when (this is the first game I have used the auto search, which is GREAT for me btw) all Provinces are searched...

Does it just stop or do they keep spending gems?

As I said, this is the first time I have used it and the thread (unless I missed it) didn't address this issue.

I would suspect that if you had 5 mages site searching and E had hit all the provinces it would reset to defend.

Just looking for someone that has used it so I won't waste precious gems it has helped me find.:confused:

If a province has been searched for Earth, Gnome Lore caster will try to find better targets (like a province with only 1 site that hasn't been search in E). If no better targets are found, the caster will target the manually searched province.

IIRC, during my last test the mages stopped casting the spell automatically when all provinces had been spell-searched.

unfortunately, if you're using Shift-M to set a repeating ritual, mages will search your capital too before pooping out. you need to keep an eye on them then since this is a waste. if you're a real min maxer, you will want to manually target everything to make sure you search the most promising provinces first, and the most remote (that are likely to be captured) and least promising last, if at all.

Despite this, I typically just let them go until they exhaust themselves. I hate micromanaging.

Have you seen that in 3.21, Omni? It was reported elsewhere that while the AI will still search enemy capitals with (well, now I assume, less than 4 sites :o), that they won't search your own while automated. Actually, I think I can confirm this, as MA Caelum certainly seems to avoid its own capital.

If it is that thread from a few months ago, basically site searching works now how most people contended it worked in that thread. It didn't work right but the vast majority of people believed it did, pretty much ending the debate.

But now it really does seem to work great.

It works far better than before, but I still find something whcih can be improved:
Can we make Bowl of Blood never target underwater provinces? I believe that is an absolute waste.
