Getting good effects with artillery?

I need some helpful hints on how to get good effects from artillery. As it stands right now, my guns maybe score one AFV kill for every Battalion 2 DPICM fire mission I get out. I find it somewhat difficult to hit fast moving targets, but I'm not sure if that's realistic and intentional. And most of all I can't seem to get the Cooperhead to work; it fires but never seems to guide onto a target. I have a BFIST in the area lasing (I assume it's done automatically) but it never seems to work out...?

Any advice appreciated.

Increased kills will usually depend on the type of sheaf selected for the fire mission. The best way to increase the probability of multipl kills is to select "converge" however with arty there is no certainty that you will get kills because it is an area weapon.

Arty is not capable of engaging FAST moving targets because of the time lag between calling the mission and the mission being fired. Against moving targets the process would be to call the mission and adjust fires onto the moving target but with a FAST mover it is likely it will be out of the impact area before the mission hits.

Its been a long while since I used Copperhead so Pat might be able to answer this one better but from memory I think you do have to turn on the laser.

Yeah, they aren't moving particularly fast, March Speed in-game, but for some reason I can range up and down their formation with artillery and get mostly nothing out of it.

Roger that, thank you. I know there is some other criteria in there for Cooperhead use, I'm going back and trying to make sure I'm meeting them before I fire another PGM mission.

That should read, "Does that apply to larger units of fire? I tried using 16 Paladins against a tank company moving in column and failed to kill a single vehicle."
