Need help with sound files crashing my game
 

I have installed the patch to ver 1.41 and the tdm modpack along with a few other races. The game works fine until I click on a message sent from another empire in the log. I'm pretty sure it's because the patch or mod took me from text only Messages to "voice" Messages and I don't have something installed correctly. Has anyone experienced this and more importantly, know how to fix it?

I assume it's a "voice" of whatever empire is sending the message. To tell the truth I don't even know that it's supposed to be a voice, again, I just assumed. Anyway, the game (and computer) locks up when I click on message in the log to see what another empire had to say. Know how to fix it?

Don't know if it will help you, but it's worth a shot.

As for these "voice" Messages, if you are refering to an audio message, there are none in SEIV.

Thank you so much. Sorry about the late reply but a short trip developed into family night out. I'll try reinstalling again. Maybe without adding the patch.

You're welcome prader. Glad I could help. I never experienced any problems myself, I just remembered reading that thread a while back.

This may be your problem; so, when they release the next patch there'll be a workaround at least...
