Communions and mage order
Trying to arrange a biggish sized reverse communion but I can not seem to be able to place the mages in the order I need, i.e. low level mages at the top and elite mages at bottom.
Is there any trick so to be able to re arrange the mage order in the battle list? like trying dividing the army in different provinces and regrouping it again is some specific order or size etc? Thanks, |
Re: Communions and mage order
No.
They're ordered by unit ID. The only way you can control it is by picking which mages to send to the battle. |
Re: Communions and mage order
Unit ID? where can i see that?
Does it means the AI places units in an ascending ID order from top to bottom? |
Re: Communions and mage order
I don't think you can see it, but yes it's the order that commanders are displayed in the army setup screen (and elsewhere) and the order they cast in.

Re: Communions and mage order
They cast top to bottom in the order listed.
So say you had 6 mages, make the bottom 2 masters, top 4 slaves. |
Re: Communions and mage order
It is related -roughly- to the order you recruit them in. The Unit ID (like many Identifiers) is simply a number assigned to each unit to keep track of them.
Units are listed on the map according to their ID. I think it is safe to assume each new unit is assigned the next vacant ID (but remember old IDs can be vacated when old units die, and so new units may appear in the middle rather than the end). Once an ID is assigned, it cannot be changed. Rituals will be randomly cast in either ID order or reverse ID order. Battle spells will always be cast in ID order. |
