Why was I permanently banished?
Sometimes, when I am winning the game, it says, "You god has been permanently banished", and I automatically lose the game.
Why does this happen? I had taken almost all of the enemies provinces, so I dont see how he could have taken away all my dominion. I never built temples or anything but that shouldn't matter. My god was still alive also. |

Controlling territory does *NOT* grant you dominion! If he has half a dozen provinces with temples and you have 400 with no temples and the situation sits for long enough he will win. Note that this works both ways, you can win by getting rid of all of his dominion. Sometimes it's the easiest way to take out a capital full of powerful troops. |

As mentioned earlier... most likely you never built any temples. The only other possible cause was you setup the game with a victory condition such as victory points... and you lost those provinces. |
Re: Why was I permanently banished?
Look at the dominion score graph.

Re: Why was I permanently banished?
A followup: The came is called *DOMINION*s! The whole objective is to get dominion over the whole world! Your troops are merely a means to this end.

Re: Why was I permanently banished?
Dominion is measured by those candles on the map. If they're all black and you don't see white ones, you're in trouble. If you only put your points into magic paths and never into the Dominion of your god during pretender creation, you'll have a good indication as to why you failed.
