Cloaked ships can get by mines?

I'm pretty sure I know the correct answer to this one, but:

Can a cloaked ship pass a mine field without setting off the mines?
(Obviously, the question is only relevant when war has been declared, because you can pass by an ally's minefield with ANY ship.)
And if so, does it have to be a full cloaking device, or is Stealth Armor good enough?

Cloaked ships will be destoryed by mines, and worst: if they have mine-sweepers components, will be unable to use them to remove the mines while they're cloaked.

In a one player game against an AI. I had a system protected with a mine field and the cloaked ships of the AI went right passed them and wiped out the system. The mines never went off.

Anybody confirm this one way or another? Just in case it makes a difference, I'm assuming the player who created the minefield has no scanning capability.

BTW, I'm asking because I want to sneak a cloaked vessel in behind enemy lines to wreak some havoc, and if he'll be killed by the mines on the way in, then I'll save my ship for something else.

I did not have scanning tech yet in my game. I only could see the ships when they were in orbit over a planet. I know they did not move the ships in before I built the field as the field had been up for over 10 turns before they started wiping out my planets. Of course this may have just been a fluke in that game. But it sure took me by surpise. I thought that system was safe and moved my fleet off to attack one of their systems. BY the time I got my fleet back, out of a fulling developed system, I had one planet left.

I have had enemy ships floating around my space for many turns before they decide to attack.

Once I discovered cloaked ships attacking past my defense fleets, I tossed 500 mines on each wormhole into my two starsystems. Many turns passed, with cloaked ships regularily blowing up in my minefield. Half a year later, they attacked with a cloaked force.

Cloaked ship will definetly get blown up in minefields. Minefields are the best defence against stealth and the fact you can't sweep while cloaked means the enemy will at the least get to see your sweepers. (And then initiate combat)

An interesting note is that Explosive Warheads 1 cannot destroy scattering armour, so a ship with a piece will clean a minefields (of warheads 1).

I don't know what happened in Dracus's game but it ain't right.
