Unrestricted Battle Flight
 

I saw a recent post by Baalz that Horrors can stormfly, but they don't have the stormfly tag in Edi's DB.

What other units have unrestricted flight in battles? They ignore storms, and units like this can also fly underwater.

Edit: Here are the attributes you need to fly underwater. You cannot fly underwater if you gain these attributes through items:
Amphibian or Poor Amphibian
Flight
Stormpower or Stormimmune


Units which can Storm fly:

Hunter of Heroes
Defiler of Dreams
Eater of Gods
Eater of Dreams

I tested all the other ethereal & flying creatures (Visitor, Vastness, Phantasmal Horror etc) from Edi's DB, and they couldn't Storm fly.

After testing with a Staff of Storms, it seems Storm Demons are able to do this on top of their "ignore precision loss of Storms" ability.

Other ones to check would be Pazuzu, and the Bandar national summons guy that teleports. The list is pretty short as I recall.

Yep, Storm Demons have the "Stormflyer" attribute. It's column EX, "Movement - strmfly" in Edi's DB. Here's a cut & paste of those units:

But I was looking for units that are not on this list, who can also fly in storms, and who can fly underwater.

Haven't tested, but I think Rudra and Morrigan can also storm fly.

Thanks. I tested, and Morrigans can't stormfly, but the Rudra can, it even says so in the description. I've added it to the top post, since I can't edit post #3.

There is a hidden tag "stormimmune" which is not mentioned in Edi's DB.

BTW, the wiki contains a lot of undocumented tags like "fortunate events X"(firebird, lady of funtune), "Divine being"(angels and national sommons of Bandarlog) and "magic 1"(Lugh the Long Handed). it seems the database is extracted directly from the game files.

Thanks! That's very handy.

But strangely, the units in my second list are able to fly underwater, even though lch's DB just has the same "stormimmune 1" tag for the Dai Tengu and a Horror, for example.

Okay, I did some testing with modding.

To fly underwater, you need these intrinsic unit attributes:
Amphibian or Poor Amphibian
Flight
Stormpower or Stormimmune

You cannot add an item (eg Winged Shoes/Flying Carpet/Gift of Kurgi) and be able to fly underwater, if the unit does not already natively have Amphibian+Flight+Stormimmune.

Stormimmune is the same as stormflyer. The reason the DB tag is different is that it was earlier, and the #stormimmune modding command was added later. The #stormpower command grants stormimmunity in addition to the statboost during storms.

The Wiki stuff is extracted directly from the game. The DB spreadsheet has been transcribed by hand, which is why not everything (the undocumented stuff) is not included and why the stormflyer list was incomplete. Since it was a hidden attribute, I could only add the ones I knew.

Well, it was a big help having what you've got in the DB, in any case! The new wiki stuff is great too, but currently there's no interface to search it by attribute, eg find all the stormimmune units.

I thought that the underwater flight might be another hidden attribute, but it just turned out to be a combination of existing ones.
