A Note:

I recently joined 3 games in at the PBW site.

1 game I took over for a player, 2 others I joined from the beginning. I started with really nothing, and attempted to make the best of it, and I felt as though I was doing well. Unfortunetly, I missed a turn yestarday, and todays turn would not allow me to access my race. I withdrew.

Recently, the second game started, after nearly a week of doing nothing. I opened my mail today, and discovered that it was up and running on turn 2. I withdrew because I could not access my race. This angered me greatly enought to say "F-k it!" Invalid PW is a *****, especially since I should know it. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon8.gif

The 3rd game has not yet started, its been over a week now, and still nothing. I am about to withdraw from it.

I think PBW is awsome, and really enjoy reading other peoples Posts about the games they are in. Now that I have SEIV working correctly to play it, its getting into a game that will run smoothly. I was the weak link in these games because my scheduled did not permit me to be on the PC 24-7, and that caused some lag for the other players. (I am very sorry about that.) I am not that familar with the PBW gaming system to know if or how a turn is forced, but I do know that if it is forced, the player should still be able to log onto his race for the next turn. Not being able to log on simply means: "Go the hell away." So I did.

I think I will start a game, a new game, one that will serve, for me, as a learning tool.

Did you put up inquiries about any of this in either the PBW Bug Reports Forum, or the individual games' forums? I don't recall hearing any previous reports of someone not being able to access their empire after the AI has run a turn.

Re: A Note:

No I did not. I did not think it was a bug, but more of an admin feature. You know, a polite way of saying "beat it" without having to kick a player.

Re: A Note:

From what I understand, admins are not supposed to be able to change passwords until the new patch comes out.

Re: A Note:

as far as i know, such a feature does not exist, and it would really sort of suck if it did.

I think in the new patch, the admin can reset passwords, but i dont think the new patch is out except in beta, and even so, it would probably require that the turn be run by hand offline, not by auto on the server.

sounds like a bug, i would not take it as a personal affront.

Re: A Note:

Well, I just got the game file for the third game, and guess what, the same thing. Invalid password. I know the password is NOT invalid. I sent an email to the game Admin asking him to send me the pw.

I don't get it. I have not change my password, therefore it should Fing work.

What would be nice is to be able to see all your information from the MY OPTIONS page of PBW. This way, you would KNOW your PW, and everything else about your race simply by clicking the MY OPTIONS button.

Re: A Note:

one of the problems is that if a player changes his empires password, that change does not show up on PBW. thats really odd that your passwords are not working in three different games.

are you using the Matryx's mod chooser utility? could it be an issue with it remembering your passwords?

Re: A Note:

Yes it is especially since I always us the same PW. (Now I won't) I can not figure this out. It is really frustrating. Perhaps I did something wrong when setting up my empire.

I have gone thru the set up, and everything.

All I can do is run a list of pw that I use, and hopefully one will work. In which case, I will have proved I am an moron.

I found the password, on my second try. Oh very funny CNC. Very funny indeed.

CNC (My brother) has a very devious sence of humor. ALL is well now with game three.

Do I really want to know why your bro has a warped sense of humor. ?

Personally if my brothers warped sence of humor involved messing up my games of se4 he would find his abilitly to remain breathing in serious jepardy.
